Polka and pie

Event brings music, food and the chicken dance to West Linn


by: VERN UYETAKE - Members of the band Alpine Echoes got up and danced with the crowd on Friday night.
The sixth annual Oktoberfest was last weekend in West Linn at the corner of 14th Street and Willamette Falls Drive.

This year's event was catered by Fetzer's and included event organizer Alice Richmond's homemade apple pies.

The Alpine Echoes Band performed again this year at the fest. Playing music from Germany, Austria and France to Mexico and the United States, the band entertains with everything from the traditional polkas to the wedding-favorite, the chicken dance.
