Donate gifts for low-income parent event

The UNITY Center lets parents shop for gifts priced at 25 cents

Once again this holiday season, The UNITY Center in West Linn will be hosting “25-Cent Toys for Girls and Boys” event. Selected low-income parents with children at the Bolton, Cedaroak Park and Willamette primary schools will be given the opportunity to “shop” for toys at 25 cents each.

“All parents want to experience the joy of shopping for gifts for their children,” Rev. Victoria Etchemendy of The UNITY Center said. “During times of unemployment or other times of financial difficulties, buying toys can seem like an impossible extravagance. This event gives parents the opportunity to buy gifts for their children that they would not otherwise be able to afford.”

Members of the West Linn community who wish to contribute unwrapped, new toys, books, games, craft items or sporting equipment should contact The UNITY Center at 503-697-9765 before Sunday, Dec. 16.
