Six vehicles have their windows smashed

A rash of vehicle break-ins struck West Linn the evening of Jan. 2. Six vehicles had their side windows broken along Rosemont Road, Ridge Lane, Knox Street and Wakerobin Court, according to West Linn Police Sgt. Dave Kempas.

Glove boxes were rifled through, and a set of golf clubs was taken along with a purse and papers, including a Social Security card. The first call to report the crimes came in at 8:07 a.m. Jan. 3.

Kempas said the police currently have no suspects, but he said all of the vehicles were within walking distance so it may be someone who lives in the area.

Although not all break-ins can be avoided, Kempas cautioned residents against leaving any valuables in vehicles as temptation.

Anyone with information on the break-ins or possible suspects is urged to call the West Linn Police Department at 503-655-6214. Confidential text messages can be sent through Text-a-Tip to 274637 with the keyword “WLPD” as the first word in the message, followed by the tip.
