Children’s class, seed exchange set

Children are invited to learn “All About Sunflowers” from 10 to 11 a.m. Feb. 9 at the Robinwood Station garden. The class is for children ages 5 to 10 and costs $5.

The Robinwood Station garden is holding its annual seed and plant exchange Feb. 23 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. All are welcome.

The Robinwood Station is located at 3706 Cedaroak Drive, West Linn.

The city of West Linn will post winter weather information on its home page and on its Facebook page and Twitter when necessary.

The winter weather route map shows primary and secondary snow plowing, de-icing routes and streets subject to closure during snowy and icy weather in West Linn.

Sausage, kraut feed set

The West Linn Lions Club will hold its 40th annual sausage and sauerkraut feed Feb. 16 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Resurrection Catholic Parish Hall, 21060 SW Stafford Road, Tualatin.

The cost is $12 for ages 9 and older and free for those 8 and younger. Proceeds will benefit local charities. Tickets are available at the door or from West Linn Lions Club members.

There will be live entertainment featuring the Oregon Polkabeats.

UNITY Center launches Season of Peace

In conjunction with numerous spiritual communities worldwide, The UNITY Center in West Linn will celebrate the 16th Season for Peace and Nonviolence during the 64 days between the anniversaries of the deaths of Mahatma Gandhi (Jan. 30) and Martin Luther King Jr. (April 4).

Launched in 1998, and each subsequent year, at the United Nations, this international event honors the shared vision of Gandhi and King to heal, transform and empower communities by creating an increased awareness of their nonviolent principles and practices.

The UNITY Center will kicked off the season Jan. 27, with services, classes and events centered on the themes of peace and nonviolence throughout the months of February and March.

February events include:

Six-week book study series featuring “Gandhi the Man” by Eknath Eaawaran begins Feb. 5 at 7 p.m.

“For the Next Seven Generations,” a documentary film about the world vision of 13 indigenous grandmothers from across the globe will be shown at The UNITY Center Feb. 1 at 7 p.m. $5 suggested donation.

Arun Gandhi, “Lessons I Learned From My grandfather, Mahatma Gandhi,” an in-person presentation by Gandhi’s grandson at St. Anne’s Chapel, Marylhurst University, is set for Feb. 25 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 and proceeds to go to the school Gandhi is funding in rural India.

Providence offers free mammograms

Uninsured Clackamas County women between the ages of 40 and 64 years of age who have not had a screening mammogram in the last year may be eligible for a free mammogram offered by Providence Willamette Falls Medical Center.

Screening are set for 4 to 8 p.m. Feb. 5. Appointments are available on a first-come, first-served basis. All applicants must meet financial criteria. To determine eligibility and to schedule an appointment, call 503-557-2100.

Please note the schedule below and come at the time designated for your particular device. You may be sharing your learning time with others, so arrive on time and be familiar with your device beforehand.
