Due to tough times and a couple of hard months, the owners of West Linn's Pizza Schmizza are closing its doors on Saturday at 7 p.m.
Kristen Hoffman, who owns the store with her husband, Jeff - along with Steve and Cindy McNulty - said there was not enough business coming in to cover the restaurants' overhead.
'We had a couple slow months last year,' said Hoffman, adding that they were unable to renegotiate with the property owner.
'We decided it was time,' she said of the Jan. 14 closure. 'We would have a good week and then a whole month we would be really slow. We are closing regrettably after trying so hard to stay in business.'
Both couples live in West Linn and have children in the West Linn-Wilsonville School District. The store was known for helping with many local fundraisers.
They took over the business from Ian Olsen and Todd Braden in the spring of 2009.
