Students offer uninsured community free dental care

Students in the Dental Assistant program at Clackamas Community College will offer free community dental screenings from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, June 7, at the Harmony Community Campus.

CCC will partner with Oregon Health & Science University dental school and Northwest Family Services to provide the service.

The free dental screenings are available to adults who live in Clackamas County and do not have dental insurance. People who would like to participate are encouraged to make an appointment with Northwest Family Services by calling Zuri Lopez at 503-278-3574 or This email address is being protected from spambots. College dental-assisting students will work with OHSU dental students to provide exams and oral hygiene instructions.

The CCC program prepares 24 students each year for entry-level positions as chair-side dental assistants. Program graduates have gone on to work in private dental practices, large clinics, or continued with their education to become dental hygienists and dentists.
