New library parking lot nears completion
Construction is finished, but light pole delivery delayed until November
The new parking lot at the West Linn Public Library is nearly complete.
The lot, which adds 12 spaces with direct access to the children and teen areas on the buildings lower level, was constructed at 5750 Hood St., about a block away from where the existing 32-space parking lot stands.
The city purchased the property for $203,000 in 2011 using the countys library district capital funds.
According to Assistant City Engineer Erich Lais, construction is complete save for the installation of light poles, which experienced a delay in delivery and will be installed at some point before Thanksgiving.
In July, the West Linn City Council voted unanimously to approve a $196,845 contract with Braun Construction and Design for the new parking lot.
