Attend library director reception
Residents are invited to a reception and ice cream social on Aug. 20 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the West Linn Public Library. Meet Holly Mercer, the new library director, learn about the librarys expanded hours and get an update on the new parking lot.
Mayor John Kovash, members of the city council, the West Linn Library Foundation, the Friends of the West Linn Public Library and the West Linn Library Advisory Board are hosting the event.
Isas Auto Service moving to Oregon City
Isas Auto Service, located at 22250 Willamette Drive, will be moving to 1128 Main St., Oregon City, effective Sept. 1.
The service has been at its West Linn location for the past 21 years, but a loss of lease forced the move across the river to downtown Oregon City. Isas Auto Service will inhabit the old Weiler Chevrolet building most recently Mings Auto Repair on Main Street.
The phone number and email for Isas Auto repair will remain the same.

WLACC seeks volunteer bus driver
The West Linn Adult Community Center is looking for a volunteer bus driver with a current commerical drivers license to drive its 18-passenger bus that takes members on daytime trips several times a month.
At times it involves just a few hours, while other trips last most of the day.
The community center has several drivers that it rotates through, so it is not a significant time commitment.
Anyone interested in this volunteer position should contact the West Linn Adult Community Center at 503-557-4704.
Movies in the Park continues Aug. 9
The city of West Linn offers free movies on Friday evenings throughout the city in July and August.
Movies start at dusk and families are welcomed into the parks to enjoy picnics, popcorn and movies.
This event is professionally planned and managed by the West Linn Parks and Recreation Department.
Movies are democratically selected using online polling. This years winning movies include:

n Aug. 23, Tanner Creek Park, 3456 Parker Road: Men in Black 3 (PG13)
Change of venue for White Oak Savanna Concert on Aug. 17
The concert for the White Oak Savanna, on Aug. 17 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., has changed venues.
The new location is the bandstand in Willamette Park with views of the river flowing behind and plenty of spots to set up a chair. The address is 1100 12th St., and parking is available.
The two Latin guitarists performing, Mariano De Orbegoso and his son, Masud Tahmassbi, can usually only be heard at El Gaucho in the Benson Hotel.
The concert is $20 and tickets can be purchased in advance or on the day of the event. Proceeds go to the acquisition of White Oak Savanna.
