Don't slander water plan task force

Bob Thomas continues his quixotic quest to convince the Tidings (Aug. 8) readers that our public works folks and city council are somehow scheming to bring water to the Stafford Hamlet and thus are asking too much of us with the 2008 Water System Improvement Plan. Why then is the council (along with Tualatin) working with attorneys to fight Metro's consideration of adding the Stafford triangle to the urban reserve? Think about it!Mr. Thomas has been singing the same song for years, creating confusion and doubt about the work done by a dedicated group of West Linn citizens. Persons can have honest and conflicting views about municipal expenditures, but it is wrong to slander the task force by characterizing a planned education program as a "con.”

Shame on you, Bob.
