The Lions finished in eighth place and got some strong performances, particularly from three freshman who will make up the core of next year's team.

Following his terrific showing at the district meet, Roman Ollar continued his impressive freshman campaign by taking 27th at state and finishing as West Linn's top runner in a time of 16:41, setting a new PR in the process.

He was followed closely by senior teammate Tyler Griffin who finished in 31st place, just two seconds behind.

Grayson Ollar finished in 53rd place in a time of 17:14, one of his better showings of the season on what is traditionally a slow course at Lane Community College.

Freshman Colin Squires finished in 63rd in a time of 17:28 while Connor Cushman finished in 69th place.

The Lions wrapped up a very impressive season in which they outperformed many early-season predictions. West Linn will graduate just two of its top seven this year in Griffin and Cushman who helped push the younger runners this year.

But the Lions should be poised to be one of the league's top teams again next season and could move up with their state positioning as well.
