The West Linn girls tennis team racked up a pair of wins over Canby and Oregon City before dropping a tough 4-4 decision to Clackamas in sets.

Against the Pioneers last week, West Linn won 5-2 with one match getting washed out.

In singles, Ella Riddle easily dispatched her opponent 6-1, 6-0 while Becca Cruze won at No. 2 singles in straight sets.

West Linn racked up three wins in doubles with the teams of Macie Coronel and Nicole Campbell, Emmalee Scheid and Jenna Broadhurst and Callie Olson and Julia Casad each winning in straight sets.

Against Canby, it was West Linn's singles line-up that was dominant.

Riddle, Cruze, Maddy Kunstel and Jackie Keele all won in straight sets and the Lions dropped just two total games in its singles matches.

In doubles, Coronel and Emily Borne won in straight sets at No. 1 as did Olson and Casad at No. 3.

The best match of the day was at No. 2 doubles where Scheid and Broadhurst lost a narrow 6-4, 4-6, 7-6 decision.

On Monday, West Linn and Clackamas each swept different sides of the bracket.

The Lions were unbeaten in singles play again. Riddle won 6-0, 6-1 and Cruze won 6-2, 6-4 while Kunstel ground out a 3-6, 6-0, 6-3 victory.

Bourne won 6-0, 6-4 to complete the sweep.

In doubles, the Lions came up short against some very strong teams and had to default the No. 4 doubles match because of an injury.
