The boys post their lowest round of the year and the girls win without their top player

West Linn's girls golf team shot its second-lowest team score of the season Monday at Arrowhead and rolled to another TRL victory despite playing without its lowest scorer in Sarah Archuleta.

The Lions won by 30 strokes over second-place Clackamas, widening their lead in the TRL.

Kristin Elich led the way with a 75, topping her best round of the season by four strokes to claim medalist honors.

She was followed by Hannah Archuleta in her first varsity tournament of the year. Hanna Archuleta shot an 81, good enough for the second-best score on her team and the fourth-lowest individual score of the tournament.

Amanda Elich, Katie Fillion and Chloe Barnes all shot rounds of 83, highlighting the team's remarkable depth this year.

The Lions will play again next Monday at Langdon Farms.

For the boys, West Linn posted its lowest team score of the season Monday at Stone Creek. West Linn came in with a 301, good enough to edge out Lakeridge's 305 for another second-place showing.

The Lions continue to distance themselves from the Pacers for second place in the league with two regular season tournaments left before districts.

CJ Sitton rebounded from a tough previous tournament to shoot the Lions' low round of 72, good enough for fifth place individually.

Not much separated the Lions' varsity players this week. Ryan Kelley and Brett Bushnell also had their best league rounds of the season, shooting a pair of 76s.

Hayden Coppedge and Soren Carr were each just one stroke behind, shooting 77. For Carr, it was the first time he has broken 80 this season.

West Linn currently has a 12-point advantage over Lakeridge for second place and will play on his home course, Oregon Golf Club, Monday.
