The Lions get set to close out the regular season

West Linn has one regular season game remaining.The West Linn girls lacrosse team has just one regular-season game remaining before opening up its state title defense in the playoffs.

The Lions rolled over and improving Lakeridge team 14-3 Tuesday and, with a win at home against St. Mary's tonight (Thursday), the team will lock up a tie for the league title with Lake Oswego.

The Pacers gave the Lions a few issues again as they sought to slow down the pace of the game, picking and choosing their spots on offense.

But West Linn simply had too much athleticism and firepower, getting off nearly 30 shots in the contest as the team racked up another easy win.

Nine different players scored for the Lions who pulled away quickly.

Natalie Byrne and Mariah Gatti each notched hat tricks for West Linn and Gatti also captured three draws in the game.

As usual, West Linn held a firm advantage on draws in the game, winning that statistic 11-6 and dominated the possession.

Adina Mollusky also captured three draws for the Lions.

Hanna Morford added two goals for West Linn while Jessica Weinhart and Morgan Finklea each scored a goal and had an assist.

Annalyssa Sassara had three saves on six Lakeridge shots on goal.

West Linn is 14-1 on the season and is the highest scoring team in the state, having scored 250 times so far this year.

The team will wrap up the regular season and enter the playoffs as a favorite to make a third straight appearance in the state title game.
