The cities of Wilsonville and Tualatin will host a public planning workshop from 6-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, at Horizon Christian High School, 23370 SW Boones Ferry Road, to begin discussing the future of the Basalt Creek area, located between the two cities.

This interactive community workshop will include a short presentation followed by live polling questions and a hands-on mapping exercise. Participants will be asked for ideas for future land uses, a multimodal transportation network (walking, bicycling, transit) and parks and open spaces.

Wilsonville and Tualatin are collaborating on a project to plan for the future development of Basalt Creek, a rural, unincorporated north of Wilsonville and south of Tualatin. The Basalt Creek planning area could change dramatically over the next 20 years as thousands of jobs and a new neighborhood are added to the two communities.
