With clowns, jugglers and dancers galore, the Wilsonville Fun in the Park event, held Saturday, Aug. 5, seemed more like a circus than the average neighborhood gathering. Held at Town Center Park, the annual event drew large crowds throughout the day, playing host to multiple dance teams from local studio Innovative Dance and showcasing the talents of jugglers, magicians and other entertainers.
"We love making the world a happier place. We are so excited to be here," Regina Wollrabe said, known by her alias Cha Cha the Clown to the children she entertains.
Along with the magical entertainment, Fun in the Park showcased a plethora of local businesses, ranging from local dentist offices to toy stores, all hosting different activities for guests to enjoy.
Other groups, such as the Boy Scouts of America, made their presence known at the event with activities aimed at awareness of what scouting has to offer.
"The best part about coming to Fun In the Park is interacting with the kids and getting them excited about scouting," Barry Derlago, cubmaster of Troop 194 said.
Above all, the event was a place for Wilsonville residents and other guests to come together and celebrate the city.
"It's great to see these kids having a good time. It's about community," event participant Cathi Davidson said.
