The trio of Wilsonville High School athletes won its second-straight championship at the 14th-annual Nothing But Net basketball tournament July 27 at Wait Park in downtown Canby.

Incoming sophomores Sam Bullock, Kaden Ogles and Chris Riewald went 5-0 in the eight-team bracket for 14- and 15-year-old boys.

They topped Wild Hare Bar & Saloon in the first round, rose above Team Towers in the second round and advanced to the finals with a win over Buckets.

The 3-on-3 Kings then claimed their back-to-back title with another victory against Wild Hare Bar & Saloon, which advanced through the consolation bracket to set up the grudge match.

Bullock, Ogles and Riewald took home championship T-shirts and gift certificates.

Last year, the 3-on-3 Kings defeated Shooting Stars to win the bracket.

Nothing But Net, which is coordinated each year by the Rotary Club of Canby, featured scores of teams and hundreds of male and female competitors in 15 age brackets.

The tournament benefits the nonprofit group’s wide variety of charitable causes.
