All-state honoree Luke Klassy, Wildcats seek another trip to playoffs

by: GREG ARTMAN - Luke Klassy and the Wilsonville boys lacrosse team held the No. 3 ranking in the state after winning their first three games of the season.

Coach: Joe English (second year)

Last year: 7-11, 2-3 in the NWOC (fourth); lost to Beaverton in the round of 16

Key players: Luke Klassy, Andrew Fairrington, Evan Richardson, Jason Johnson

Key losses: Jeremey Wetherbee, Braden McManus, Brandon Naccarato

Outlook: After adjusting to a new head coach last season, the Wilsonville boys lacrosse team has seemingly found a groove in its second year under Joe English. The Wildcats climbed to No. 3 in the state rankings after defeating Beaverton, Thurston and West Salem in their first three games, and they’ll be looking for a return trip to the playoffs. All-state honoree Luke Klassy highlights a defensive unit that is giving up just four goals per game through three games.
