The two-way career for which Clayton Gelfand had hoped is coming to fruition.
The Wilsonville alumnus, who transferred from Sacramento State to Chico State before the start of the spring baseball season, has taken advantage of his pitching, hitting and fielding opportunities.
Gelfand brought home a run on a hit in the Wildcats 4-1 win over Cal State Stanislaus on the road March 23. As of that date, he had six hits and four RBI as well as a .667 batting average.
On the mound, Gelfand had thrown four strikeouts without giving up any runs in three innings of work this season as of March 25.
