Turn in Springfest applications

Attention, Wilsonville High School seniors: Applications for the 2014 Springfest court are due to the school registrar, Lisa Bippes, by 3:30 p.m. Jan. 8. Download an application from the school website.

Interviews will take place Jan. 13 from 3:30 to 5:15 p.m. in the forum, and a popular vote will take place Jan. 16. The court members will be selected using the following criteria: application, 30 percent; interview, 30 percent; popular vote, 40 percent.

Court selection will be announced at 2:45 p.m. Jan. 17.

Save the date for Lowrie's Snowball Dance

Lowrie Primary School will be transformed into a winter wonderland Jan. 24. From 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., students and their families can enjoy a dance, game room, photo booth, food and beverages and raffles for adults and children. The event is being sponsored by Lowrie Primary PTA.

Raise money for MAP

A new art studio in Wilsonville, ALT Creative Studio, is holding a fundraiser for Music and Art Partners, the independent, nonprofit organization that provides funding for music and art activities in West Linn-Wilsonville schools.

ALT Creative Studio offers classes in photography, painting, drawing, mixed media and more. During the month of December, the studio will donate 20 percent of the registration fees for classes in January and February.

Check WHS students' grades

Second-quarter progress reports for Wilsonville High School students are available starting Wednesday. Access the reports using the PASS tool on the school's website at You will need your student's ID number and PIN to view your student's grades and progress. Words & Hand artwork on display

Work from last school year's collaboration between artists and writers at Wilsonville High School and Catlin Gabel are now on display. View the pieces at Catlin Gabel's new art gallery in the CAC building, located at 8825 SW Barnes Road in Portland. The gallery hours are 8 a.m to 5:30 p.m. on school days.

Support senior grad night

Peachy Berry frozen yogurt in Wilsonville is donating some of its proceeds to benefit the WHS senior all-night graduation party. Stop by the store, located at 8261 SW Wilsonville Road, between 11:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Wednesday to enjoy a frozen treat. To ensure that a portion of your purchase goes to the senior grad party, tell the cashier that you are supporting a senior at WHS senior.
