Visit WHS for incoming parent night

Wilsonville High School will host an event for the families of current eighth-graders who will be freshmen next school year. Join WHS administrators, counselors and staff in the high school commons March 17 at 6:30 p.m. Attendees will learn about making the transition to high school, graduation requirements, online forecasting and how to become involved in high school. An optional tour will follow. All parents of eighth-graders are encouraged to attend.

Buy tickets for middle school musical

The West Linn-Wilsonville School District’s middle school musical is back. This year’s production of “Footloose” will have you singing and dancing in the aisles. Join some of the most talented young people in the area as they stage this musical.

Performances will be held at the Wilsonville High School auditorium April 10-12 at 7 p.m., with a matinee April 12 at 1:30 p.m. The show will wrap up with two more performances April 14 and 15 at 7 p.m.

All seats are $10. Advance tickets may be purchased starting March 13 at the WL-WV district office or online at eticketexpress.com.

Time to register for Youth Music classes

Enroll now in music and dance classes for spring term at Youth Music Project. For the first time, YMP will offer a variety of master classes including blended vocal and piano, blended vocal and guitar and a fiddle workshop in addition to normally scheduled classes. Master classes will be open to students with experience in each instrument, and there is a minimum age requirement for participation. Visit YMP’s website for details.

Spend spring break at Club K

After-school child care provider Club K is offering an educational and fun spring break option for kids. Activities will include a field trip to play laser tag at Ultrazone and a movie and popcorn afternoon. Students attending will learn about reporting and illustrative arts, enjoying newspaper-themed activities as they become Junior Journalists.

Support Soul’d Out fundraiser

Wilsonville High School’s a cappella group, Soul’d Out, is raising money to finance its trip to the International Championsip of High School A Cappella competition in New York in April. Right now, group members are collecting donations of new and gently used items for a garage sale to be held April 5 at the WHS gymnasium.

Donations may be dropped off in the WHS parking lot every Monday from 7:30 to 9 a.m. All donations are tax deductible and receipts will be provided.

Anyone wishing to make a financial contribution to help with Soul’d Out’s travel expenses can send cash or check to Soul’d Out at Wilsonville High School, 6800 SW Wilsonville Road.
