A key road game is Dec. 11 at Tri-City, which has been holding off Portland for the Western Hockey League U.S. Division lead and is 4-0 against the Winterhawks this season. Tri-City has outscored Portland 21-12, although two of the games were decided by one goal.

• Portland forwards Ty Rattie and Brad Ross and defenseman Joe Morrow will take part in the Dec. 10-14 selection camp for Canada's world junior team. If chosen from the 41 camp invitees, they would compete in the world junior championships Dec. 26-Jan. 5 in Calgary and Edmonton, Alberta. … Rattie was named player of the week for the Canadian Hockey League after notching seven goals and five assists as the Hawks went 3-1-0-0 last week, losing 7-6 at Tri-City. Morrow has scored a goal in five consecutive games.
