Resident burned in NE Portland apartment fire

One person was injured in a Monday afternoon apartment fire in Northeast Portland.

Portland Fire and Rescue said the apartment resident was burned in a kitchen fire on Jan. 19 at a building in the 400 block of Northeast 16th Avenue. The fire was extinguished by the building’s fire sprinkler system.
The resident’s injuries did not appear to be life threatening, according to firefighters. The injured person was taken to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center
The fire was contained to one apartment. Investigators have not determined the fire’s cause or estimated the amount of damages.
