Kristi Oliver was born in Portland, Oregon on January 29, 1986. She went home to heaven on March 1, 2016, in Gresham, Oregon, when a tree fell on her car while she was driving on Oxbow Parkway, on her way to work. A memorial service is planned for Saturday, March 12, 2016, at 1:00 pm at Wood Village Baptist Church, 23601 NE Arata Road, Wood Village, Oregon 97060.

Kristi lived all of her life in NE Portland, Troutdale and Gresham. She attended Margaret Scott Elementary School, Walt Morey Middle School and graduated from Reynolds High School in 2004. She earned her Associate of Arts Degree in General Studies at Mt. Hood Community College.

From the age of 6 through high school, she played softball. She played the flute and oboe, was involved with Future Business Leaders and National Honor Society. She had talked about becoming a lawyer, then a teacher, but ultimately decided that being a wife and a mother was most important to her.

She worked at Fred Meyer bakery, Office Depot, the Paper Factory and Lowe’s. During her 5 years at Lowe’s, she advanced to head cashier and then became the Installed Sales Coordinator for a new program being developed.

Kristi was married to Jeremy Oliver on June 6, 2009, at St. Andrews Chapel in Portland. They have a three year old son, and she was 4 months pregnant at the time of her death.

She enjoyed camping, scrapbooking, board and card games, the beach, the Portland Trailblazers and Disneyland. She was a committed wife, excellent mother and faithful friend who cared about everyone.

Kristi is survived by her husband, Jeremy, son Michael “Mikey,” parents, Michael and Teena Sterkel, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins, and a host of co-workers and friends.
