Man hit by van on Divison Street dies

Police say a 74-year-old man has succumbed to his injuries after being struck by a minivan on Sunday.

Portland resident Fuk K. Chan died on Monday, March 12, inside a local hospital after he was hit by a minivan on the 11500 block of Southeast Division Street.
The pedestrian’s death is the seventh traffic fatality to spark a criminal investigation in Portland this year, police say.
The adult male behind the wheel of the van has not yet been identified, but police say the driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.

“The investigation will be presented to the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office for review and consideration upon completion,” a news release states.
The Tribune previously reported that East Precinct officers found Chan sprawled in the street around 8:25 p.m. on Sunday, March 11.
Police believe Chan was crossing Division near Southeast 115th Avenue when he was struck by an eastbound Nissan Quest minivan.
