Leo Douglas McElroy

Leo Douglas McElroy, age 86, passed away in Newberg, OR on Friday, August 17, 2018.

He was born November 11, 1931, in Oregon City where he worked and lived for over 55 years. Retiring from the Oregon City Fire Department in 1985, he continued to work his custom meat cutting business.

Leo was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, trapping, and panning for gold.

He is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Olwen (Tiny) and his brother Jack.

Survivors include Arlene, his wife of over 65 years, daughters Wendy McElroy of Gladstone, Sherry Whiteley of Beavercreek, Peggy McElroy of Christmas Valley, Jody Matlock of Canby and son, Frank McElroy of Portland. There are also 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be September 15, 2018 at 3 p.m. at the Oregon City Elks Lodge, for family and friends.
