Victims in May 22 crash identified as sisters

Police have released the names of two women killed in a two-car crash in North Portland before 9 a.m. on Wednesday, May 22.

The victims are identified as Ana E. Moreno Hernandez, 19, and her sister Kaylee D. Moreno Hernandez, 15.

In a statement, De La Salle North Catholic High School announced that Ana had graduated from the school in 2018. Her sister, Kaylee, was a ninth grader at Central Catholic High School.

Services are planned on Tuesday, May 28, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 5227 N. Bowdoin St., beginning at 8:30 a.m.

De La Salle will be closed on Tuesday. The Hernandez family has created a to pay for funeral expenses.

Police say a a 2002 Lexus IS300 driven by the older sister south on North Greeley Avenue “crossed the center line” and collided with a gray SUV driving north.

The driver and the passenger inside the sedan died in the crash.

Authorities report that the other driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators. That driver has since been released and was not cited. North Greeley is open to all traffic.

This is the 30th traffic incident investigated by the Portland Police Bureau major crash team in 2019.
