Deadly hit-and-run is third fatal crash in Portland in 2021

Portland Police Bureau officers are investigating a deadly hit-and-run crash in the Kenton neighborhood.

Authorities say officers were dispatched around 6:38 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 9, following reports of “a person seen laying in the road” on North Denver Avenue near the North Columbia Boulevard overpass.
Police arrived and found an unconscious person, and paramedics soon determined the individual was dead at the scene.
Police believe the person was struck by a vehicle that drove off before officers arrived. No suspect information was released, and no arrests have been made.
