Portland area’s Brooklyn Bronson makes Radio City Rockettes

We’ll have more later in a feature story, but congratulations are in order for Brooklyn Bronson of Tualatin.

The Jesuit High School graduate has been named one of the new 18 dancers who make up the Radio City Rockettes.

CBS2 in New York City, a CBS affiliate, quoted Bronson during April auditions. The Radio City Rockettes lowered their height standards to give more women an opportunity; women 5 feet 5 to 5-10 1/2 are now eligible.

“I would’ve been on the edge, but I think I would’ve barely just made it. So now I feel like I have a little more room,” she told CBS2.

The Rockettes were also looking to become more inclusive, the station reported. More than 800 dancers auditioned.

Bronson was a member of Westside Academy Dance and Gymnastics in Tigard.

The “Christmas Spectacular Starring the Radio City Rockettes” begins Nov. 18 and goes through Jan. 2, 2023 at Radio City Music Hall at Rockefeller Center.
