It’s also the fifth straight year that the institution is included in the magazine’s “Best National Universities” category, an honor that groups it with some of the country’s more renowned institutions.
Listed at No. 269 of 439 in the magazine’s 2024 rankings for Best National Universities, George Fox joins Princeton (No. 1), MIT (No. 2), Harvard (No. 3) and Standford (No. 4) among those recognized for their full range of undergraduate majors, plus master’s and doctor programs, while also engaging in “groundbreaking” research, the university noted in celebrating the honor.
Specific programs that received attention from the magazine included the school’s listing among the “Best Undergraduate Engineering Programs,” which consists of schools that offer an accredited bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, but not a doctoral degree.

The school’s nursing program also received high marks, appearing on the magazine’s “Undergraduate Nursing Programs” list at No. 402 of 656 schools ranked.
The ranking (available at www.usnews.com) was in addition to the Newberg-based school appearing on the magazine’s “Top Performers on Social Mobility” list, where it landed at No. 134 of 439 schools ranked.
“The ranking represents the university’s success at enrolling and graduating large proportions of disadvantaged students who receive Pell Grants — the majority of which are awarded to students whose adjusted gross family incomes are under $50,000 annually and in many cases below $20,000,” George Fox said in a statement.
George Fox has more than 4,000 students spread between campuses in Newberg, Portland and Redmond. It offers more than 60 undergraduate academic programs and 20 master and doctoral degrees. It also offers degree-completion programs for working adults.
