Highway 217 travelers need to be prepared a big disruption this weekend.

The Oregon Department of Transportation will close the major westside roadway between Greenburg Road and 99W, in both directions, starting the evening of Friday, March 15, as a part of the highway’s improvement project. It will be closed starting at 9 p.m. Friday from until 5 a.m. Monday.

The closure will allow crews to demolish the Hall Boulevard overpass.

Several on-ramps in the area will also be affected by this closure and ODOT is encouraging traffic to avoid the area or find alternative routes.

The closure is part of ODOT’s OR 217 Auxiliary Lanes Project, which will build additional lanes in both directions between the Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway and OR 99W.
