Who will have the fastest milk carton boat?

The 2024 Milk Carton Boat Race will take place at Westmoreland Park on Sunday, June 23.

Registration is now open for the Royal Rosarians’ event, which just requires that boats be made of recycled milk cartons and jugs. Children ages seven and up are eligible to compete. There are also divisions for teens, adults, and groups of mixed ages.

The race takes place in the casting pond at Westmoreland Park, 7700 S.E. 22nd Ave., Portland.

Participants don’t have to worry about drinking enough milk to get the materials for their boats. Empty cartons can be picked up at Alpenrose and multiple Les Schwab locations. More information is available online.
