January 25, 1945 – April 5, 2024 – Duane Roger Iverson, MD passed away of acute myeloid leukemia on April 5, 2024 in his Lake Oswego home. Born January 25, 1945 in Roswell, NM, Dr. Iverson was a graduate of Mt Rainier High School in Des Moines, WA, Stanford University (history, 1967), and Northwestern University (MD, 1971). He completed his residency at Oregon Health & Science University, where he met his wife, Patricia (Steen). They were married for 40 years until her death in 2016. Dr. Iverson practiced internal medicine at Cascade Physicians, where he was a partner, and was affiliated with Good Samaritan hospital in Portland, OR.

He was an avid golfer and fly fisherman, and he loved traveling, reading, and classical music. He will be remembered for his kindness, affable nature, and quiet sense of humor. He is survived by daughter Kristen (Kirkland, WA); brother Donald (Barbara; Kirkland, WA); and wife Lani Bidgood (Surprise, AZ).

A public memorial service will be held Sunday April 28, 2024 at 2 pm at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 15751 Quarry Rd, Lake Oswego. Remembrances may be made to the Oregon Symphony. Additionally, those able are asked to consider donating blood or platelets through Bloodworks NW.
