On Thursday, July 18, a detective with the Yuba City Police Department, in California, contacted the Portland Police Bureau’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit regarding an undercover chat operation.
The detective reportedly posed as a 13-year-old child and chatted with the Portland man. Conversations, which were alleged to be initiated by Douglas-Meyers, were sexual in nature and involved discussion on how to meet.
Around 7 a.m. Friday, Aug. 23, in a multi-agency effort, Douglas-Meyers was served a search warrant at his home in Northeast Portland. He was arrested and transported to the Multnomah County Detention Center and charged with a felony for luring a minor.
