Thursday’s calm before the Portland region’s next fall storm

- We’re in for more rain and wind by Friday, Nov. 21, but nothing to compare to this week’s “bomb cyclone.”
As of Thursday, Nov. 21, the strongest fall storm to hit the Portland metro area so far this season is behind us, but the Pacific Northwest now braces for another round of wet and windy weather.

A few stray rain showers are likely around the Pacific Northwest as temperatures warm along the Willamette Valley, according to KOIN 6 News’s meteorologists. Afternoon highs will return to the mid-50s thanks to an easterly breezy.
The Pacific Northwest’s next fall storm of the week arrives overnight into Friday morning, Nov. 22, with wind and rain. Rain showers will become more widespread and persistent as winds gust close to 30 mph around the metro area.
Wind gusts could be near 40 to 45 mph along the Oregon and Washington Coast on Friday. The southern Oregon coastline in Curry County will see the strongest winds in this next round of weather with gusts up to 65 mph.
