Portland prep hoops Dec. 7: Cleveland girls start 2-0, boys teams see bounce back

Cleveland girls basketball takes on South Medford in the POA Holiday Classic tournament Dec. 28, 2023 at Franklin High School.

The first Saturday of the Oregon high school basketball season saw some teams getting into the win column for the first time on the young season.

Ida B. Wells, Cleveland and McDaniel boys hoops bounced back from losses to pick up win No. 1 while the Cleveland girls improved to 2-0 alongside a number of boys teams as well.
