That’s why Positive Charge! PDX is hosting Cookies for a Cause, a holiday cookie event to help spread joy to though going through tough times this time of year.
The local nonprofit will host the event from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 21, at Ida B. Wells High School in the cafeteria, 1151 S.W. Vermont St., Portland.
Volunteers will bring their favorite cookies to the cafeteria and can either drop them off, or stay to help assemble and package them.

The event aims to bring volunteers together to package holiday cookies and make greeting cards to be delivered to those facing housing insecurity, dealing with mental health struggles and those without a community or family to spend the holidays.
Items will be delivered that same day to those using services at New Narrative, Northwest Pilot Project and Sunstone Way in the Portland area. It will reach 40 housing sites and more than 500 residents.
This is a family-friendly event, with ages 6 years and older encouraged to join.
