19-year-old Portland woman arrested for stabbing two, destroying hotel property

- Portland Police Bureau arrested a man who allegedly broke into an apartment and assaulted a sleeping woman on Wednesday, April 9, in the 4800 block of Southeast 30th Avenue.
Shanai K. Daniel was arrested after allegedly stabbing two people and destroying a hotel’s property early morning on Monday, Dec. 23, in the Lloyd neighborhood.

Daniel is lodged at the Multnomah County Detention Center on charges of second-degree attempted murder, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, first-degree robbery, second-degree burglary and unlawful use of a weapon.
Portland Police Bureau responded to calls from a reported hotel employee, around 3:30 a.m. in the 1400 block of Northeast 2nd Avenue, because she had been stabbed and witnessed the suspect destroying hotel property.
Within minutes of the call, officers located and detained Daniel who had been stopped by two individuals in the area, according to a press release.

Both the hotel employee and one guest were stabbed, police said. They were both transported to the hospital with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.
