LETTER: Take a stand, Chavez-DeRemer; Do you support Jan. 6 pardons?

President Trump commuted or pardoned the sentences of hundreds of felons who were convicted in the riots that took place on Jan. 6, 2021, by many people — some violent — who opposed the counting of the electoral ballots.

Is Oregon’s Lori Chavez-DeRemer — Trump’s nominee for U.S. Secretary of Labor — okay with this? Or would she prefer that people just don’t talk about this?

The president’s actions are scandalous. As the only Oregon resident with the possibility of serving on Trump’s cabinet, I think she should be more vocal in speaking out against this travesty.

So what’s it going to be, do you support pardoning Jan. 6 felons or don’t you, Ms. DeRemer? Take a stand!
