Rex Maynard Davis

May 25, 1955 to January 28, 2025 – Rex Maynard Davis, 69, of La Grande, passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at his residence.

A memorial service will be held on March 8, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Elgin Christian Church in Elgin, Oregon.

Rex was born in Portland, Oregon to Richard Sherwood and June Joyce (Jackson) Davis. He resided in Oregon all of his life living in; Boring, Gresham, Sandy and La Grande. He attended Orient Grade School and graduated from Sam Barlow High School in Gresham, OR. On June 27, 1981, Rex married Amy Anne Carlson, they had 2 children; Calvin and Carly. Rex and Amy were happily together for 43 loving years until his passing.

Rex was self-employed. He was a small business owner for over 30 years; he owned and operated R.S. Davis Recycling/Orient Auto Parts.

Rex enjoyed flyfishing, woodworking, and antique car restoration. He also enjoyed playing golf.

Rex is survived by his wife, Amy Davis; his children, Calvin Davis (Kathy) of Pendleton, OR, and Carly Davis of La Grande, OR; siblings, Joan Davis of Oregon City, OR, Jodi Nichols (Paul) of Oregon City, OR, and Lana Davis of Sandy, OR; and 2 grandchildren, Grant and Linnea Davis. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and June Davis.
