1935-2025 – Shirley Geiter passed away at the age of 89 on January 29, 2025, at her home in Gladstone, Oregon.

Shirley Ann Perkins was born to parents, Harold and Lola Perkins in December 1935 in Salina, Kansas.

She graduated from Salina High School and then attended Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Illinois.

Shirley met her husband Paul when he was stationed at Smokey Hill Air Force Base near Salina Kansas. They were married June 14, 1957. They spent their honeymoon driving to the Milwaukie Oregon area where they lived for many years and raised their family.

Shirley and Paul were active members of Milwaukie First Baptist Church (now GracePointe). Shirley played the Organ there and was involved in the Choir. She was also involved in the Mary-Martha (now Helping Hands) ministry of the Church.

Shirley loved to sew, and would often give lovingly hand-made items at Christmas and at Baby Showers.

Shirley enjoyed canning many of the fruits and vegetables they grew at their home in Milwaukie. Shirley and Paul kept chickens and bees; they sold honey and eggs from their home. Shirley also enjoyed many trips to Eastern Oregon in the Blue Mountains where she would hunt deer and elk with her husband and family.

Shirley is survived by her four children, David (wife, Eileen), John (wife, Deanna), Mary (husband, Bryan), and Donald. Shirley also has 11 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.

Shirley is also survived by her sister Joyce, sister-in-law Shirley and brother-in-law Jim (wife, Melanie).

Shirley was predeceased by her husband Paul, her parents, and her brother Verne.

A Celebration of Life Service for Shirley will be held at 2 pm Saturday March 22, 2025 at GracePointe Church, 10750 SE 42nd Ave, Milwaukie OR 97222.
