November 5, 1943 to February 21, 2025 – Gary Earl Scott, age 81, of Troutdale, Oregon, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2025. He was born on November 5, 1943, in Portland, Oregon, to Oliver E. and Helen Scott.

Gary graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1961 and went on to serve in the U.S. Marines from November 8, 1961, to November 7, 1967, achieving the rank of Corporal (E4).

On October 1, 1965, Gary married the love of his life, Yvonne Scott. Together, they spent 59 years building a life full of love, adventure, and family. Their home was in Troutdale, where they raised their children and enjoyed many memories with their grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Gary was a dedicated family man, and his legacy lives on through his children: son Jeff Scott and his wife Marcie; daughter Kristi Iglesias; grandchildren David, Ashley, Dustin, Kimberlee, Matthew, Jacob, Alexis, and Kayla; and great-grandchildren Lucas, Lauren, Colton, Bailee, and Carter.

Gary worked in various roles throughout his life, including as a delivery driver for a laundry service, a limo driver, and a parts delivery driver for Ron Tonkin Dealerships. He was known for his hardworking and dedicated nature.

In his spare time, Gary was an avid golfer, bowler, and passionate Oregon Ducks fan. He enjoyed watching football, basketball, and golf. Gary loved reading and could often be found checking out books from the local library, indulging his love for learning and stories. He and Yvonne cherished their trips to the beach and the moments spent with their beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Gary will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His warmth, humor, and kindness left a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to cross his path.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home 520 W Powell Blvd Gresham OR at 1pm.

Gary’s family takes comfort in knowing that his love and legacy will continue to live on in their hearts.
