October 18, 1939 – December 30, 2024 – Judy was a force! Her intellect and the convictions of her passions were powerful. Her interests were broad, from baseball to Shakespeare, from knitting to politics, from Jewish history and culture to iceskating to name just a few!! Her two loves, books and travel, were life long threads that helped her explore and deepen her knowledge and understanding of her many interests. Judy didn’t keep her interests or her opinions to herself. We were all recipients of her thoughts on topics, her book recommendations and reviews, her suggestions for trails, restaurants, places to see throughout the US, Europe and Israel and recipes for her favorite dishes.

Judy’s life was rich with the deep relationships she formed with her family, friends, neighbors, coworkers, medical workers, and her caregiver Iona. This Fall, in a discussion with close friends, she spoke of her legacy as being “an example to others especially young women, that one doesn’t need to be in a partnership to live a strong, beautiful, vibrant and meaningful life”. Judy’s vibrant presence expanded all of our worlds.

A celebration of Judy’s life will be held April 26, 2025, 1-4 at Peterkort Woods Clubhouse 10353 SW Taylor St Portland 97225.
