Larry V. Wirth Sr.

December 1, 1939 To February 15, 2025 – Larry V. Wirth, Sr. passed away on February 15th at the age of 85.

He was born in Portland, Oregon to Victor and Sally Wirth. Larry married his high school sweetheart, Roberta in 1959, and together they raised five children. Larry worked as a heavy machine mechanic building logging and mining equipment.

His job took him all over the U.S., as well as Africa, Germany and Australia. While repairing mining equipment in Australia he was able to travel into the mine about a mile underground. In the late 1960’s he built his first dune buggy. Many summer weekends were spent at Sand Lake and Florence riding the dunes. Larry even participated in a few organized races at Sand Lake. Larry was preceded in death by his wife, Roberta.

He is survived by his children, LeRoy, Wendy, Larry Jr., Norman and SuEllen; 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.
