Double your impact: Portland Books Through Bars collabs with indie bookstores for donation drive

Double up those donatable bucks with the Hull Family Foundation’s newest independent bookstore drive supporting a Portland-based initiative.

The Hull Family Foundation launched an independent bookstore drive to benefit Portland Books Through Bars, an organization dedicated to combating educational inequity for incarcerated people, while encouraging people to visit local, indie bookstores this spring.

For every wishlist book purchased during the drive, which runs from April 21 to May 5, the foundation will match 100% of the price of the book as a donation to Portland Books Through Bars.

How it works:

  1. Buy a book to donate from the wishlist of participating stores between April 21 and May 5.
  2. The foundation matches the cost of every wishlist book purchased during the whole drive.
    It’s only two steps, really.

Here’s a list of participating bookstores:

  • Always Here Bookstore, 4555 N. Williams Ave.
  • Broadway Books, 1714 N.E. Broadway.
  • Third Eye Books, Accessories & Gifts, 2518 S.E. 33rd Ave.
  • Wallace Books, 7241 S.E. Milwaukie Ave.

Each location will have a curated wishlist of titles that will be donated to Portland Books Through Bars’ letter matching program.
