One of the best tribute shows returns to Portland. Rain: A Tribute to The Beatles takes you back to the eras of “Sgt. Pepper” and “Magical Mystery Tour,” and it stages at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 23 at Keller Auditorium (portland5.com).

Portland musicians gather for the 18th annual “Lady Sings The Blues — A Tribute to Billie Holiday,” 8 p.m. Saturday, April 26 at Alberta Rose Theatre (albertarosetheatre.com). Featured performers are Marcia Hocker, Laura Stilwell, Rita Marquez, Anandi, Marilyn Keller and Lenanne Sylvester Miller.

Verselandia!
Put on by Literary Arts, young poets from Portland and Multnomah County high schools gather for the Verselandia! Youth Poetry Slam Championship, 7 p.m. Thursday, April 24 at Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall.

Big arts events
Two arts events, A Gathering of the Guilds and Oregon Potters Association’s Ceramic Showcase, have reunited and they will be held at Oregon Convention Center, Friday-Sunday, April 25-27. There’ll be more than 300 artists working in metals, glass, wood, beads, fibers and clays and glazes exhibiting their wares, doing demonstrations and offering youth activities. Hours are 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday (gatheringoftheguilds.comoregonpotters.org/Ceramic-Showcase).

All that jazz
Mt. Hood Community College in Gresham plays host to the Mt. Hood Jazz Festival again, Friday-Sunday, April 25-27. It includes professional performances as well as high school and middle school jazz ensembles.

It’s a parade
The 18th annual 82nd Avenue of Roses Parade, showcasing a diverse neighborhood, takes place Saturday, April 26. It starts at 9:30 a.m. just north of Eastport Plaza at Southeast Bush Street and travels north on 82nd Avenue and disbands at 78th and Yamhill. It’s presented by 82 Roses Community Enrichment Coalition. There’ll be marching bands, community groups, local officeholders, school bands and more.

TEDxPortland
The lineup has been set for the TEDxPortland event, which starts at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 26. It’s year 13 of TEDxPortland, and it features 13 speakers, including cartoonist Mike Bennett, soccer player Christine Sinclair and photographer Ivan McClellan, and four performances, including Christopher Brown (portland5.com).

Oregon Ballet Theatre
The OBT School puts on its annual school performance, “Sleeping Beauty,” 1 p.m. Saturday-Sunday, April 26-27, and OBT2 stages “OBT By Design,” 7 p.m. Saturday, April 26 (obt.org), both at Newmark Theatre.

White Bird Dance
Heads up: The internationally acclaimed Grupo Corpo, Brazil’s premier contemporary dance company, comes to Portland for the final White Bird Dance performance of the season. Grupo Corpo will stage two powerful works, “21” and “Gira,” at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 30 at Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall (whitebird.org).
