December 13, 1940 – February 28, 2025 – Thomas Frank Smythe born on December 13, 1940 passed away on the 28th of February 2025 at the age of 84 peacefully in his sleep in his apartment in downtown Portland. Tom is survived by his niece, and 3 nephews, Dayna, Tyler, Eric and Evan respectively.

Tom coached football for over 50 years at various levels of competition. He excelled in high school football coaching winning 2 state championships with Lakeridge and McNary. He also won a semi-pro title coaching the Vienna Vikings in Austria.

A celebration of life will be held at the Oswego Hills Vineyard and Winery on Sunday May 4, 2025 from 1pm to 4pm. Details can be found here Tap to RSVP to Celebration of Life For Thomas Smythe. On the 3rd of May, there will be a meet and greet at JJ’s Pub in Lake Oswego starting at 7pm.

In lieu of gifts, we would ask for a donation to our gofundme for Tom’s aftercare Honoring Coach Tom Smythe’s Legacy, organized by Tyler Smythe. This will go to after life expenses. Any extra funds will be donated 50/50 to Lakeridge and McNary high school football programs.
