Portland Police Bureau is asking for the public’s help in locating a suspect in an alleged child abduction in the Mt. Tabor neighborhood.
He’s described as around 50 years old, 6 feet tall and 250 pounds. He was seen wearing a black beanie, a black medical-type of mask, a black zip-up hoodie and black jeans.
Around 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 29, police responded to a suspicious person call in the area of Southeast 50th Avenue and Harrison Street.
Officials said a woman reported that two hours prior, while she was gathering her belongings inside her residence, she noticed a stroller with her child inside had vanished.
The woman reportedly ran out to the street and saw a man pushing the stroller and child from her residence. She caught up to the man and punched him in the face before he fled, according to a police statement.
Officers searched the area and could not locate the man or security cameras.
Anyone who knows this man, or knows anything about this case, is asked to contact Detective Billy Winters at William.Winters@police.portlandoregon.gov (503) 823-0466 and reference case number 25-110713.
