Robert K. Erickson
June 6, 1935 – April 14, 2025

Robert Erickson lived a long and very healthy 89 year life. He was born in the middle of the great depression in Portland, Oregon and was raised in Warren, OR., in the heart of Columbia County. He was a second generation American with his grandparents migrating from Northern Europe. His father Walter was an entrepreneur and business owner. His mother Marjorie, was a teacher and home maker, raising their three sons.

Robert was a very intelligent and educated man. He was a second generation college graduate. God gifted him with well-above average intellectual gifts. He attended Oregon State University for 3 years and graduated on to Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland where he completed his D.M.D. degree and entered the dentistry field. He practiced dentistry for over 30 years in the Hillsboro area retiring permanently at age 60.

Upon retiring from dentistry, Bob embarked on his second career managing his family timber company and being a full-time companion to the love of his life, his wife Elaine Erickson.
Elaine and Bob enjoyed traveling and spending time at their central Oregon summer home in the Sunriver resort, while mainly residing in Columbia County.

He was a nature enthusiast enjoying natural animal habitats, bird watching, and gardening wherever possible. He also enjoyed music, art, antiques, as well as business and politics.

Bob was also a phenomenal father. Raising four children as a single parent for several years before marrying Elaine. His children had varied paths. Amy served in the marine corp and raised two children. Lisa graduated from Northern Colorado University and became a teacher and mother of two with her husband Christopher in Las Cruces, NM. Anne graduated from Seattle University and worked in occupational therapy before retiring with her husband John at their long-time home on Whidbey Island. Bob’s one son Neal, graduated from Oregon State University and has been in retirement income strategy work for nearly 30 years. He resides in Vancouver, WA where he is in private practice with his business partner. Neal has two grown daughters.

Bob was an open-minded and forgiving individual who would often seek peace above all. He treated his mother and father very-well. Particularly his mother, who had physical ailments toward the end of her life. Bob was an incredible husband, to his wife Elaine. Bob also had several life long friends that have survived him, Scott and Tracy White, Ron Vilhauer, Roger Axtheln and his investment counselors Steve, Angie and Brian. And as mentioned earlier, couldn’t have asked for a better father. While Bob did succumb to dementia over the last few years of his life, he always remembered his family to the end. Bob passed away peacefully and pain free during his sleep the night of April 14th. God honored him with a long, healthy life and peaceful passing. May he rest in peace.
