Not many Portlanders know the efforts that the city and business partners have undertaken to address climate change and to reduce the region’s carbon footprint.
That will be the topic of the Portland Metro Area’s next breakfast forum, slated for 8:30 to 10 a.m., Thursday, May 15, in the Skyline Ballroom of the Downtown Hilton, 921 S.W. Sixth Ave.
A panel discussion will feature Corky Collier, executive director of the Columbia Corridor Association; Todd Khozein, co-founder and CEO of SecondMuse; Donnie Oliveira, deputy city administrator for community & economic development, city of Portland; and Kristen Sheeran, vice president of policy and resource planning at Portland General Electric.
Alando Simpson, CEO, COR Disposal & Recycling, will serve as moderator.
“Over the past four years, business, workforce, higher education, and community organizations have partnered with the city of Portland to develop the first-ever Clean Industry Initiative, which released an assessment and roadmap, endorsed by 28 partner organizations, for meeting the city’s industrial decarbonization targets in 2022,” according to a chamber press release. “In 2024, the Portland Clean Energy Fund approved a $20 million Clean Industry Community Program grant to launch this public-private industrial decarbonization partnership.”
Single tickets for members only cost $55. Those who wish to attend can register here.
