Deputies with the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office made Jolly Old Saint Nicholas proud this season, as the agency’s annual toy drive delivered a bright and cheerful Christmas to more than 1,000 local children.

The 2025 Fill the Cruiser Toy Drive, in which the MCSO collects donated gifts from the community, led to 1,112 children and 280 families across East Multnomah County getting gifts for the holidays. That makes it one of the most successful toy drives ever for the public safety department.

The 2025 Fill the Cruiser Toy Drive was one one of the department’s most successful toy drives to date. The annual event takes place outside stores and city halls in Fairview, Troutdale, Wood Village and Maywood Park. Deputies, in collaboration with local cities, collect hundreds of new, unwrapped toys from the community.

This year, the presents were donated to to 1,112 children across 280 families across East Multnomah County. The drives are coordinated by the MCSO Community Events Team.

“Our goal for the giveaway is to create a welcoming, festive environment where parents can shop with dignity, so their kids can look forward to a brighter holiday,” said Multnomah County Deputy Sheriff Jessie Volker. “We are incredibly grateful to everyone who contributed.”

The toys were distributed Saturday, Dec. 13. Families in East County were invited to a local church to select gifts for their children, which corrections and law enforcement deputies and community volunteers wrapped on site.

The MCSO thanked participating cities and residents who made this year’s Fill the Cruiser Toy Drive a success.
