NE Portland hotel robbed

Portland police are investigating an early Friday morning robbery in the Montavilla Neighborhood.

According to the police, at 5:47 a.m. on Aug. 31, East Precinct officers responded to the report of an armed robbery at the Comfort Inn, located at 8225 Northeast Wasco Street.

When the officers arrived, they spoke to the victim who told them that the suspect entered the hotel armed with a handgun and demanded money. The victim told police that during the robbery, the suspect hit him in the face with the gun.

Officers searched the neighborhood assisted by a Police K-9 Unit, but did not locate anyone matching the suspect’s description.

The suspect is described as an Asian or Hispanic male in his 20s, with a thin build, light blue hoodie, dark blue pants, black shoes, sunglasses, and wearing a dust mask.
